Gossip Girl: “I’m Chuck Bass”

Although I thought that the big reveal on last night’s Gossip Girl about Serena’s dirty little secret was a tremendous letdown, I’m not going to let that interfere with my enjoyment of the episode. There were so many other amazing parts about the episode that I’m willing to overlook the lameness of Serena’s secret and move on to her really great group of friends.
First, I suppose I should begin with my analysis of Serena’s secret. It probably is realistic that she felt so guilty about her friend Peter’s overdose and subsequent death that she had to go into hiding in a boarding school in New Hampshire. She was only 16 at the time, still reeling from having slept with her best friend’s boyfriend, and clearly under the influence of more than one chemical substance. But honestly, I expect more scandal from Gossip Girl.
